Several days per year, the US stock markets close early, typically at 1pm New York time. This can cause some issue with your normal TAT setup, schedules, and settings. There are some things to make note of that you may want to change.
Starting with version 4.0.45, TAT will make the following adjustments automatically:
Market Close time will be adjusted forward 3 hours. This will prevent missing stop warnings or attempts to enter stop orders after the market is really closed.
Convert to Short Stops will be run 3 hours earlier than normally scheduled.
End of Day expiration and settlement tasks will run at 1PM and 1:30PM.
ITM Protection (IBKR) will be adjusted to be enabled 3 hours earlier than normally scheduled.
Here are our recommendations:
Scheduled Trades
We recommend that you disable any entries that would occur after the market is closed. If not, TAT will continue to try to place those trades, which will be rejected by TWS.
Scheduled Exits
If you have trades scheduled to exit at a specific time, you may want to wish to change those in your templates, or manually close them.
Trade Re-Entries
Trade re-entries that are normally set to not re-enter after a certain time, might need to be updated as well if you don't re-entries placed leading up to the end of the shortened market day.
