Broker Setup
IBKR Only
The TWS Host is the network address of the computer running Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation (TWS). It tells TAT where to find the TWS application. If TWS is running on the same computer as TAT, this is typically left blank or uses the local computer address. If TWS is running on a different computer, the host would generally be the IP address or hostname of that computer.
The TWS Port is the network port that TAT uses to connect to TWS through the IBKR API.
The port must match the Socket Port configured in TWS under API Settings. The default port for TAT live trading is 7496 and the default port for paper trading is 7497.
The Client ID is a unique identifier that TAT uses when connecting to TWS through the IBKR API. It allows TWS to distinguish TAT's API connection from other API connections.
If multiple applications are connecting to the same TWS session, each application should use a different Client ID.
Tradier Only
The Tradier API key is a unique access token that allows TAT to securely connect to your Tradier account and access the account and trading information needed for TAT to work. TAT will not connect to Tradier if you do not enter your API key so you need to Generate an API Access token on the Tradier website: https://dash.tradier.com/settings/api (There are different tokens for paper trading and live trading.) Once you have your API key you need to enter it in the "General/Broker Settings" page of TAT.
TradeStation and Schwab Only
If you use TradeStation or Schwab to connect your brokerage account to TAT, open the “General/Broker Settings” page in TAT. At the top of the page, click “Link Brokerage Account.” You will then be redirected to either Schwab or TradeStation, depending on which broker you use. Sign in to your brokerage account, and the connection should be established automatically. Once connected, you can verify your account status on the TAT settings page next to the “Link Brokerage Account” button where it will show if you are connected or not.
All Brokers
The Maintain Connection setting controls when TAT will maintain its connection to your broker. You can choose: Always, which keeps TAT connected at all times; During Market Hours, which maintains the connection while the market is open; or Disabled, which turns off connection maintenance. When enabled, TAT will automatically attempt to reconnect to your broker if the connection is lost, helping prevent interruptions to your trading setup.
Market Time - Convert 0 DTE Stops to Short
This setting determines how TAT handles eligible stop orders on 0 DTE contracts at the end of the day before the market closes. When enabled, TAT converts qualifying 0 DTE stop orders into short leg only stop orders at the time that you set. This allows the stop order to still fill as expected, even when there may be no buyers for the long leg of your spread, which may be a 0.00 bid price.
By default, this happens one hour before the market closes, but you can adjust the timing to fit your strategy.
Market Time - Market Close
This setting tells TAT was time the market closes in your timezone, so it knows when the trading day is over and end of day operations can be completed. This is extremely import to be set correctly.
Accounts
Since TAT has access to positions and trades in all broker accounts that your username can see, it is possible that your non-TAT positions could trigger a situation where a warning notification is sent. This is typical if you have a short position without an open stop order. To avoid having these warnings for accounts where TAT is not trading, you may provide the account number(s) you with for TAT to ignore on the Settings page.
Logs
Standard Logging records the normal information TAT needs to monitor and troubleshoot the software. Normal logging id the default for TAT logs. Debug Logging records additional, more detailed information about what TAT is doing. It can be useful when troubleshooting an issue, not finding trades or when TAT Support asks you to provide logs. Because it records more information, it can create larger log files.
The Clean Up Files option removes older or unnecessary TAT files, such as old log files, to help keep your TAT installation organized and prevent unused files from taking up storage space. You can use the Cleanup Interval setting to determine how many days TAT keeps log files before they are automatically cleaned up.
The Clear Logs button permanently removes the log data currently stored in the TAT database. Clearing your logs does not affect your trades, settings, or other TAT data. It is generally not necessary to clear your logs because TAT's cleanup settings can automatically remove older log data every day.
Appearance
The Light Mode and Dark Mode settings control the appearance of the TAT interface. Light Mode uses a lighter background and Dark Mode uses a darker background. This setting only changes the appearance of TAT and does not affect how TAT operates.
The Grid Font Size option controls the size of the text displayed within TAT's grids. A larger size makes the text easier to read, while a smaller size allows more information to fit on the screen.
Notifications
Enter an email address where TAT should send notifications. You can enable or disable notifications for Trade Opened and Trade Stopped/Closed. The Send Sample Notification Email option can be used to test your notification setup. Urgent notifications will be sent to the email address configured (or the account email address if no address is provided here) even if Trade Open and Stop notifications are disabled.
Enter a webhook URL to send TAT notifications to an external service. You can enable or disable notifications for Trade Opened and Trade Stopped/Closed. The Send Sample Notification Webhook option lets you test whether your webhook is working correctly. Urgent notifications will be sent even if Trade Open and Stop notifications are disabled.
